Maya’s MSB — Parent Policies & Service Guidelines

This section provides additional guidelines specific to daily operations, safety, and service expectations. By booking or using Maya’s MSB services, you agree to these Policies.

1. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before service: No fee

  • Cancellations within 24 hours: 50% of booked hours

  • Same-day cancellations (within 6 hours): Full minimum booking charge

  • Services provided by independent contractors: Cancellation policies may vary based on contractor availability; Maya’s MSB will communicate these as applicable.

2. Late Pickup & Overtime Policy

  • Overtime is billed in 15-minute increments at the standard hourly rate.

  • Late pickups past booked time may incur additional late fees.

  • For services by independent contractors, additional charges may be billed separately.

3. Minimum Booking Requirement

  • Most sessions require a 2–3 hour minimum, depending on location and time of day.

  • Minimums may vary for services provided by independent contractors.

4. Holiday & Special Rates

Holiday rates may apply on: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or other high-demand dates.

Special rates may also apply for high-demand weekends or events.

5. Home Environment Requirements

Parents must ensure:

  • The home is safe and accessible.

  • Dangerous items are stored securely.

  • Pets are disclosed and properly contained if necessary.

  • Independent contractors or sitters have safe access to the home (codes, gates, parking instructions, etc.).

6. Illness Policy

Children experiencing contagious illness, fever, or vomiting must be cleared before service is provided. Maya’s MSB and independent contractors reserve the right to refuse service if a child is ill.

7. Emergency Procedures

Sitters may contact emergency services if deemed necessary. Parents will be notified immediately of any emergencies.

8. Conduct Expectations

Maya’s MSB aims to maintain a safe, respectful environment for both families and sitters. Disrespect, harassment, or unsafe behavior may result in refusal of service.

9. Independent Contractors

  • Some services may be provided by independent contractors, who are not employees of Maya’s MSB.

  • Maya’s MSB does not control all actions of independent contractors.

  • Clients acknowledge that liability for contractor actions is limited as described in the Terms of Service
